Backup of important data has always been important. And with a wide range of backup options available today backup copies can be created in a matter of seconds. But still many of us (myself included) neglect this simple measure and thus risk losing results of long-time work forever.
Yesterday launch of a new service was announced. IDrive-E is intended to provide us with another online files backup option. What pleased me the most is that there are also payment options available: a free plan for 2 Gb of storage capacity and an unlimited plan for $4.95 a month (or $49.5 a year).
So what is special about IDrive-E that one should go their for online backup of files? The thing is that their idea is to create a fully automated “hands-free” process for a user - and as user-friendly as possible. You only need to choose settings for IDrive-E software once and forget about it completely - unless any data are lost and you need to recover them.
But of course the software can operate in manual mode as well. If you want to try the software in manual mode you should keep in mind the fact that while classic mode is preferable for automatic operation, IDrive-E Explorer is better for manual operation: when you use this mode, your online archive looks (and works) like any usual drive.

Sure, the solution is not new or revolutionary. 2 GB for free, automated backup, explorer-like interface are already available with other providers of similar services. But having it all in one place makes this service particularly user-friendly. And to tell you the truth, I have already installed it after writing the first paragraph about the importance of backup of my so precious files. I’ll try the free option out and will definitely let you know if the service is good enough to make me upgrade.
