EVault Successfully Achieves SAS 70 Type II Certification for Online Backup and Recovery for the Fifth Straight Year

complete data protection solutions, today announced it has achieved
SAS 70 (Statement of Auditing Standards No. 70, Service Organizations)
Type II certification for the fifth straight year.

SAS 70 is an internationally recognized auditing standard for
online backup and recovery service providers developed by the American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). A SAS 70 Type II
examination report is often required by companies to facilitate
compliance requirements, and they value the SAS 70 certification as
verification that their service vendor maintains the most stringent
internal practices in protecting critical information throughout the
data lifecycle process.

EVault’s SAS 70 Type II certification — the highest level of
certification — was performed by a major public accounting and
auditing firm. The assessment requires auditors to test the
effectiveness of a service company’s controls and procedures relating
to infrastructure outsourcing, such as security, application
development, maintenance, processing and business continuity.

Successful completion of the comprehensive SAS 70 Type II
examinations indicate that EVault’s processes, procedures and general
controls have been formally reviewed, and validates the company’s

Emeryville, Calif., and Ontario, Canada. In total, all seven of
