February 27, 2008 By Andy Plesser XDrive, AOL’s online storage site for saving large files, is getting 2 million uploads a day, many of them videos, Robert Blatt, Vice President and General Manager of Personal Media at AOL, told me on Monday at the Adobe Engage conference in San Francisco. The fast-growing service provides consumers with 5GB of free storage space and pricing plans for additional storage. On Monday, AOL announced that storage platform had launched on the new Adobe Air desktop. Robert explains the significance of Air as multi-platform environment. And, he explained how Air as an upload environment is much needed and will further fuel consumer ease in uploading content. It could be that the “Web 2.0″ file uploading and sharing will move the desktop with Air. It will be interesting to watch. Please click here to see the video
