1I work for Backblaze (http://www.backblaze.com), and although we are in beta, it is another great company to look at. Backblaze is unlimited online backup for $5/Month and has been getting good press from TechCrunch and others.
It’s a different then the other backup companies because it doesn’t ask what folders and filetypes you want to backup, it just backs up all your data so you can be sure it got everything.

2Diino have lost thousands of accounts and the data in them in a data corruption incident a few weeks ago. They still can’t access the data and timescales given to get the data back - if at all- are two to three months!
They haven’t kept copies of the backups. Plus they haven’t contacted the affected account holders or posted anything online. You’ll only find out about it when you can’t get your data.
The customer service on this issue also leaves a lot to be desired. Think carefully before entrusting your data with this company.

3I still find incredible that businessess could be willing to entrust their most valuable asset to storage/backup suppliers.
We came upon this “service continuity solution” named BOS-Backup proxy server that has multiple application options. Our team choose several of them simultaneously and enjoy now the best resilience we’ve ever had. For me personally it has 3 highlights:
1- A web interface where any of us users can download our lost files from backup as if it was a file server.
2- A Deleted File restoring option + historical versions of all files and folders
3- Keeps restored (and not backed-up)material. Which makes us independent even from the application itself.

4my god, I wouldn’t want backupblaze to backup everything on my PC! why on earth would I want a backup of an icon, a shortcut, a sound clip like the ‘ding’ sound when you reach the end of a file … and if it doesn’t ask what folder to back up, then how can it know what data is important and what data is just a bunch of OS files that I wouldn’t need in a restore situation anyways? Think about it - if your PC crashes, how on earth are you going to make an internet connection to restore without an Operating System. And then you already have an OS, so why on earth would you then restore files that are OS related? You already have a C:\WINDOWS directory, otherwise you couldn’t get on the internet! To me, it’s completely pointless to have a backup service backup everything. What you want is some control over what is backed up and when. Otherwise, it’s really useless.

5@3 Sureal …. sounds like a nice “marketing plug” for BOS-backup. How much do they pay per post? I’m looking for a career change and doing fake posts about products for marketing reasons might be interesting if I can work from home.
