Monday August 11, 2008 VARs, MSPs can get privately branded backup software for resale to customers; data stored at secure, redundant offsite locations throughout the United States NASHVILLE, Tenn., Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ — US DataVault, in its eighth year of providing online data protection to firms of all sizes across North America, today announced a breakthrough in pricing for redundant, secure online data storage, cutting its retail prices by as much as 75 percent. As a result, the company said more businesses will be able to economically store their data and e-mail offsite at US DataVault’s multiple locations throughout the United States for rapid recovery in the event of a disaster, as well as to assure compliance with numerous government and industry regulations, such as HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, FRCP and PCI-DSS. The new pricing, announced today, means companies can electronically transmit and back up their critical data to an offsite location at prices beginning at $29 per month (MSRP), of up to ten gigabytes of compressed, de-duplicated data, giving firms that rely on US DataVault the ability to effectively store far more information than they pay for. For instance, companies that rent 10 gigabytes of storage space on US DataVault’s servers may be able to effectively store the equivalent of twice that amount or more of native data into that space. In larger quantities, the price per gigabyte plummets, reaching an all-time low of 80 cents per gigabyte per month, for companies needing five terabytes or more of storage. US DataVault also announced that its value-added resellers (VARs) can acquire privately branded graphical interfaces for their customers, as a way to promote customer loyalty. “As a VAR, we appreciate the ability to have our logo visible whenever our clients back up or restore data,” said Steve Burnett, president of First Things First Consulting, a solution provider targeting small- and mid-sized businesses along Mississippi’s Gulf Coast. “It’s a way of building on the trusted relationship we have established with our clients; US DataVault gives us the ability to provide them with an extended service at a price point ensuring that both we and our customers benefit.” US DataVault’s software, powered by its software partner ROBOBAK, offers solution providers and firms advanced features commonly found in software and services costing many times more, such as: – “Real world” continuous data protection; – Auto-deployment of agentless software to computers added to the network; – Bare metal recovery, to dissimilar hardware; – Extended database support, including hot around-the-clock backups for Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and DB2; – Automatic file replication to multiple sites; – Mailbox and message-level support for Microsoft Exchange 2007, and more. “We’ve held prices steady since our inception ignoring the ups and downs while waiting for costs to go down and stay down; now, it’s time to pace the industry by reducing them significantly,” said Marc Shaffer, US DataVault’s president and chief executive officer. “Passing through the lower costs to our customers not only enhances our value to them but makes it easier for them to actually store more business critical data for less. At a time when more and more companies are taking advantage of online data protection, we’re pleased to be able to make it more economical than ever before, while increasing the benefits they receive that help them recover data when they need it the most to stay competitive in business.” More information about the new retail pricing schedule, as well as about the full range of its services, is available from the company’s website (http://www.usdatavault.com), or by calling 615.596.4898.
