Box.net, a leading provider of tools for managing and sharing data online, today announced a redesign of the Box.net website. The new design emphasizes the Box Enterprise product, and new features have been added to the Enterprise Management Console.

Palo Alto, Calif. (PRWEB) August 18, 2008 — Box.net, a leading provider of tools for managing and sharing data online, today announced a redesign of the Box.net website. The new design emphasizes the Box Enterprise product, and new features have been added to the Enterprise Management Console.

Like the previous version, the updated site has a clean, user-friendly design and now focuses on the benefits of using Box.net, how the service works, and the Box Enterprise offering. The new design underwent extensive testing and was well-received among customers trialing it last month.

The continued increase in demand for Box Enterprise has fueled our continued expansion of enterprise-class online file storage and collaboration tools. New features that have been integrated for productive collaboration include:

  • Reporting (Launching early September) - Box Administrators can pull activity-based reporting. Reports can be generated using various criteria, including date range, particular file or folder, type of action (upload/download/delete/edit/login), and users. The reports can be saved or exported into *.CSV files.
  • Comments on Files - Individuals can now comment on shared files, allowing teams to truly collaborate in a shared space. Files with new comments will appear at the top of the Updates Tab and an email notification will be sent to collaborators.
  • Version History - Users can access up to 10 versions for any file, in chronological order. Each version is date/time/user stamped, and users have the ability to change which version is designated as current.
  • Send with My Email - Users can share Box.net files directly from their native email client - Microsoft Outlook, Thunderbird, and Lotus Notes. Our system will launch a new email window from your native client with a shared file URL. The email will come from your IP address, show up in your sent folder and you’ll receive any bounce backs.
  • OpenBox Services - Administrators can turn services on or off.
  • Time Zone Settings - Administrators can set individual time zones for global workforce.
  • Co-branding - Co-branded URL will appear on all Box pages.
