Patrick Harr Selected as Speaker for the Cloud/Storage-as-a-Service Conference Track

SAN DIEGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Nirvanix, the premier Cloud Storage platform provider, today announced that company founder and Chief Executive Officer Patrick Harr will speak to conference attendees of Storage Networking World Fall 2008 on the Myths of Cloud Storage, part of the Cloud/Storage-as-a-Service track in the Gaylord Texan in Dallas at 2:50 p.m. October 13.

Harrs 45-minute presentation will examine the recent buzz on the Cloud Storage phenomenon while separating fact from fiction regarding online storage services. Attendees will gain an understanding of how Cloud Storage can help them better grow their businesses rather than having to focus on managing storage costs and infrastructure. Included in the presentation will be real-world case studies of an online archival and backup solution adopted by a Fortune 10 company.

Economic realities of todays marketplace make the move to disruptive technologies like Cloud Storage something that more and more organizations will have to look into to reign in the escalating costs of the exploding growth of data, said Patrick Harr, Chief Executive Officer of Nirvanix. While Cloud Storage is certainly a buzz-worthy topic, there are still several misconceptions as to what it is and what it isnt. Im pleased to have the opportunity to dispel many of these myths in my presentation to those attending Storage Networking World.

Storage Networking World is the largest educational forum for IT professionals involved in enterprise storage management. Storage Networking World features tutorials as well as business and technical tracks for end users that address real-world storage concerns and their solutions. About The Storage Delivery Network

Nirvanix has built a global cluster of storage nodes collectively referred to as the Storage Delivery Network (SDN), powered by the Nirvanix Internet Media File System (IMFS). The SDN intelligently stores, delivers and processes storage requests in the best network location, providing the best user experience in the marketplace. With the ability to store multiple file copies in multiple geographic nodes, the SDN enables unparalleled data availability for developers, businesses and enterprises.

By using the Nirvanix SDN versus alternatives such as adding network storage systems or using first generation online storage platforms, businesses are guaranteed a shorter time-to-market, 80% savings over building their own storage operations, and also benefit from better flexibility and control for their operations.
