Keepit.com Online Backup Releases Keepit Version 2.1

Keepit.com today released its “Keepit Client Version 2.1″.

Keepit.com Online Backup Product Manager, Kresten Bach Søndergaard, comments: “This is a major ‘under the hood’ release for us, improving a range of less visible, but important features to bring our online backup users the best possible backup experience”.

With Keepit Version 2.1, the updates include:

• Shadow Copy (also called snapshot) making it possible to backup open files. In essence; is you e-mail software open during backup, we’ll backup a snapshot of you emails anyway
• Improved Connection Error handling. Improving connection stability during backup
• Extended logging. Keepit logs more information in case of connection issues
• improved restore experience. Added security if a user tries to sign in from different machines wether by mistake or to perform a full restore to a new system
• a range of minor bug fixes and enhancements that improves performance

Mr. Søndergaard says, “We are very happy with this release that we see it as a great milestone for our first half year milestone. Our core functionality is now in place as a prerequisite to deliver the simplest, most seamless backup experience available today. In 2009, Keepit.com plans to work on improvements and create a perfect environment for online backup users”.

Those who have already installed the client will notice that the software will automatically update to the latest version.
