Judges Give Permabit’s Enterprise Archive Data Center Series High Marks

Permabit Technology Corporation, the industry’s leading innovator of scalable, data-reduced storage for enterprise archiving, today announced that Permabit’s Enterprise Archive Data Center Series has been named as this year’s Silver Medalist for the 2008 Storage Products of the Year in the Backup Hardware category presented by Storage magazine and SearchStorage.com.

--  Winners were selected by the editors according to their innovation,
    performance, ease of integration into existing environments, ease of use
    and manageability, functionality and value. Full results have appeared on

--  Of special interest to the judges was Permabit's Enterprise Archive
    Data Center Series which addresses data growth challenges in archival
    storage with a combination of sub-file deduplication and compression, a

--  In addition, Permabit's Enterprise Archive Data Center Series was
    given accolades due to the fact that the solution yields several benefits:
    it boosts performance to up to 2 Gbps through parallel processing; protects
    archive data keeping it available in the event of failure(s); allows for
    rolling/seamless migrations to new hardware; uses standard interfaces like
    CIFS, NFS and WebDAV that keep data accessible to multiple applications;

--  The 2008 "Products of the Year" awards were judged by Storage magazine
    and SearchStorage.com editors, in conjunction with a panel of judges --
    including users, consultants and analysts. Judges selected the 15 "Products
    of the Year" winners among enterprise storage-related products introduced,
    upgraded, and shipped within the last year. A gold, silver, and bronze
    winner was selected in each of five categories: Storage management tools,
    backup and disaster recovery software and services, backup hardware, disk
    and disk subsystems, and networking equipment.
