Remote Backup Systems Inc. (RBS) announced a major upgrade available for download for the RBackup® remote backup software solution. June 02, 2009 - (Memphis TN) Remote Backup Systems, the founders of the online backup industry and developers of the RBackup® and Mercury OEM Online Backup platforms today announced the availability of the latest upgrade of their industry-defining RBackup® Online Backup software version 10.1.65. VARs and MSPs use RBackup® to offer Online Backup Services to their customers, hosting the online backup Server in their own offices or data centers. “Version 10 was designed with the future in mind,” explained Rob Cosgrove, CEO, “This new release is full of new features and options, many of which come as a direct result of what our current service providers have asked for in order to compete and succeed in the Online Backup industry.” The addition of Stand-Alone Restore Agents is one of the more stand out features included in this upgrade. The Web Restore Agent allows users to restore files from a web site to any computer, without the Client software. The Disk Restore Agent allows users to restore files from the raw Server archives copied to disk and returned to the end user along with the Disk Restore Agent. A newly redesigned Simple Interface includes a Fast Pick selection method that is designed to speed up the file selection process and Backup Exclusions which gives more control over backup selections. Other upgrades to the software include new documentation, more features for providers to offer to their clients, and a new license server that supports the new “Pay Per Client “and “Pay Per Feature” pricing models. The “Pay Per Client” (PPC) model is an economical way to buy the software that can get service providers into the online backup business more quickly. Providers are charged monthly based on the number of clients in use. This model is designed to allow providers to pay for the initial start up as they grow their business. This download is for registered users with active Maintenance Subscriptions. In order to use these downloads you must have purchased the software, and your Maintenance Subscription must be current.
