(PRWEB) November 2, 2009 — Druvaa Software best known for its enterprise laptop backup offering – Druvaa inSync, released an important upgrade for its flagship product. The new v3.1 release showcases its focus on “laptop backups” and brings some very unique and exciting features which include the “Dynamic bandwidth scheduling” and “Managed client updates”. The inSync product is laptop backup software designed for remote enterprise users and mobile workforce. The product uses advanced file-fingerprint and data deduplication technology to save only a single copy of content (documents/emails/attachments) duplicated across users. Within an enterprise where over 80-90% data is duplicate on PCs, inSync saves over 90% backup time, bandwidth and storage. With several other truly unique features and highly usable interface inSync has a very good customer following which includes names like NASA, Emerson, Brunswick, MetLife, ESET and many others. New features and highlights include – The new managed client update feature enables the backup administrator to selectively push client updates remotely to the backup users. Another important addition is the new “Dynamic bandwidth and CPU scheduling”, which enables the administrator set a percentage or absolute value based limit on client for bandwidth and CPU utilization. The bandwidth limit can be selectively set based on whether the user is synchronizing data using a WAN/VPN based connection or over the local LAN network. InSync is first of its kind of products to introduce these features for enterprise backups. Although the new release brings about 2X performance enhancement for full-PC backup and bare-metal restore, it does not include the planned and much anticipated “blackbird” data deduplication and storage engine. The new blackbird storage engine targets application aware deduplication compared to current chunk based approach for significantly better bandwidth and storage utilization.
