By Ezra Brook November 08, 2009 In order to explain all of the online backup services, Google’s engineers at Chicago have come up with DataLiberation.org, which guides to back up data or in simpler words, move data in and out of Google products. Brian Fitzpatrick, Data Liberation Engineering Manager, explains the technology by as “liberated product, which has built-in features that make it easy (and free) to remove your data from the product in the event that you’d like to take it elsewhere”. In its dedicated data liberation website, Google gives tips and guides on how to backup your Google service’s data online. The service backs up users data online from with in Google services. Most people are not aware of this service and therefore, Google has created a special site to teach people how to move their data in and out from Google services and products. Google services like Gmail, Blogger, Google Reader, Picasa has already implemented export and import function in their settings page. However, there are few services, like Adwords, GMaps and others that users aren’t aware of these services. You can get all your data in and out of Google with no time or additional effort from your side. The good thing is it is all free. Google encourages you to even suggest features and vote for existing ones at Google Moderator Page.
