Livedrive’s revolutionary new reseller programme lets small businesses sell an unlimited number of online backup accounts for just £39.95 per month. LONDON, UK — January 11, 2010 – Livedrive, a popular provider of simple and secure online backup, today announced the launch of their new reseller programme. The reseller programme is targeted at small businesses and sole traders who want to compliment their existing revenue streams by selling Livedrive’s easy-to-use online backup solution. Livedrive already lead the way with extremely easy-to-use and simple to install online backup. Once the backup software is installed on a PC it just works in the background to protect files as the user works - there’s no need to set a schedule or remember to click a button. And once the files are backed up online, customers can access them through a feature rich web portal - including playing their music, viewing their photos and watching movies from any web browser. The new reseller scheme allows small businesses to sell an unlimited number of these accounts for just £39.95 per month. All of the accounts come with the full Livedrive Backup functionality, including unlimited storage space, the renowned Livedrive desktop software, and Livedrive’s iPhone application. Resellers can also optionally brand their customer experience with their name and logo for just £199 extra per year - their customers will even see the logo on the Livedrive desktop software and web portal. Andrew Michael, Livedrive’s CEO, said on Monday: “We know that small business has been crying out for a solution like the new Livedrive reseller scheme - they’ve been asking us for it since we started. Small computer shops, web designers and IT professionals all regularly help their customers with data loss and data backup - and now they can partner with Livedrive to provide a robust and secure solution that not only helps their customer, but also adds revenue to their business.” “We feel that the custom branding is really important.” Mr. Michael adds, “Resellers want their business to be front-of-mind with their customers. By being able to brand Livedrive Backup with their logo, SMEs can ensure that the customer not only gets a great service, but is also reminded about their brand every day.” Resellers are not just limited to online backup either, as Jamie Brown, Livedrive’s General Manager explains: “As well as providing award winning online backup, we also have our Livedrive Briefcase product which lets users see the same files on every PC they use, and access their files from anywhere. Resellers can create Briefcase accounts for just £19.95 per year each - making it a really cost effective way to sell online sync to your customers.” The Livedrive Reseller Programme is available now from www.livedrive.com/resellers. About Livedrive Livedrive is creating technology that will revolutionise the way people store and access their files, photos, music, videos and other digital content. 1How amazing, a review by the marketing manager of the product … hmm sounds a little one sided.
Live Drive is a fantastic product and the reseller program would also be fantastic if there wasn’t so much Live Drive advertising on the end user’s control panel and on the backup software.
When you signup to the Live Drive reseller program you have to pay either an annual or a monthly fee. On top of this you also have to pay to have your “brand” on the client’s control panel and on the backup software. If you want the full works the prices is around £598 per year
Client /backup software:
Our experience has not been a good one. We found that we were able to install the software but after we uninstalled and then tried to reinstall it, the software just crashed and crashed and crashed … so, finally we uninstalled it and didn’t bother reinstalling it. We also found that there is a link to a tutorial on the software that takes the user to a Live Drive page that talks them through setting up the backup client. There is also more references to Live Drive on the software and while our logo was on the software it doesn’t look good when the client gets taken to another website. The software should be completely rebrandable without anything to do with LiveDrive
Users:
We found that we can create as many users as we want but we can’t delete them? In the user control panel there is an email address that reads “if you want to close the account email support@livedrive.com , as a reseller I would like more control over which accounts I can or cannot delete.
The end user control panel also has a Live Drive blog that takes them to the Live Drive website? Again as a reseller I would want more control over what my clients can and cannot see. We also noticed that there is advertising for Live Drive on the user login page!
Overall I think that Live Drive is a good product but if they are looking to get resellers on board then more needs to happen to remove all links back to Live Drive or the reseller cost removed. Also, we offer our clients 24 X 7 Support!
