GetJar Launches App Catalogue Express Whitelabel Service

Feb. 04, 2010 — SAN MATEO, Calif. & LONDON - (Business Wire) GetJar, the world’s 2nd largest app store, today announces the launch of App Catalogue Express (ACE) – a white label mobile app catalog for carriers, aggregators and partners to launch their own app stores quickly and easily. One of the launch projects for ACE is GetJar’s work for Spare Backup to create a mobile app store for The Carphone Warehouse, Europe’s leading independent mobile phone retailer.

Spare Backup has used ACE as part of the build for The Carphone Warehouse’s new customer portal, a cloud based service, which includes a mobile app store. The Carphone Warehouse portal offers a selection of high quality mobile apps to customers in the UK, including GetJar’s most popular apps – available for all major platforms and devices.

As consumer demand for apps rockets, and GetJar’s own store surpasses 750 million downloads, ACE is designed to make the delivery of applications easy for any third parties that want their own brand app store or have an app store and want to populate it with more apps.

Cery Perle, CEO, Spare Backup Inc. comments: “The ability to integrate a multitude of cross platform apps directly into a new app store, via GetJar’s App Catalogue Express, has allowed us to quickly and easily deliver mobile app store content to clients including The Carphone Warehouse. As the apps market gathers pace, we have experienced a surge in demand from clients requesting assistance in creating and launching a mobile app store – and we fully intend to incorporate GetJar’s App Catalogue Express into future projects.”

Ilja Laurs, GetJar Founder and CEO, comments: “The demand for apps has soared over the past year. Many operators and other third parties are keen to introduce an app store, without needing to manage the back office infrastructure. ACE is designed to make it quick and easy for carriers, aggregators and partners to launch a pre-populated app store for all major platforms and devices, using GetJar’s large catalogue of existing apps.”

ACE is a white label solution that expands and builds on GetJar’s experience launching branded app store solutions with over two dozen global partners including Sony Ericsson PlayNow Arena, Vodafone, 3UK, Virgin France and Opera Mini.
