Creator of Private Cloud Remote Backup System Honored with 2009 TechColumbus Innovation Award February 08, 2010 — COLUMBUS, Ohio — 3X Systems, the automatic offsite backup company for SMBs, today announced that its founder and CEO has been named Executive of the Year (fewer than 50 employees) in the 2009 TechColumbus Innovation Awards. The company was also a finalist in the Outstanding Startup Business and Outstanding Product of the Year (fewer than 50 employees) categories. Winners were honored for excellence in leadership and innovation at a gala award ceremony at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, which was attended by over 1,100 people representing the leading technology companies in Ohio. “Being named Executive of the Year by TechColumbus is a special honor, given the very talented and successful field of entrepreneurs that vied for the Innovation Award this year,” said Alan Arman, CEO of 3X Systems. “I will be sharing this award with 3X Systems’ employees. They have made it possible for me to execute my vision of creating a remote backup solution that allows small medium businesses to set-up a private cloud that backups data over the Internet and keeps the information under the company’s control not in an unknown datacenter.” Mr. Arman is one of Columbus’ most successful serial entrepreneurs. He has previously founded four technology firms - Micro Gallery (which merged with ADC), Lansoft (which was acquired by mail.com), USA.com (which was acquired by EasyLink Services), and Nexus Technology Group (which is still operating successfully). Mr. Arman received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Science and Engineering from the Ohio State University. Presented by TechColumbus, the annual Innovation Awards recognize outstanding achievements in technology leadership and innovation. From hundreds of entries, 13 outstanding leaders and teams who exemplify the best in technology leadership and innovation in 2009 were selected.
