Iron Mountain’s CloudRecovery Solution includes Support for DPM 2010, Increased Scalability, and Added Disaster Protection across Microsoft applications such as Hyper-V, Exchange, SharePoint, and SQL Server
BOSTON, Apr 19, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Iron Mountain Incorporated, an information management services company, today announced a new release of its CloudRecovery(R) solution for Microsoft(R) System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM). With Iron Mountain’s CloudRecovery solution, Microsoft DPM customers can automatically protect their business data with Iron Mountain’s secure cloud for short-and long-term, off-site storage. This release includes support for DPM 2010, multi-terabyte scalability and new options for additional data protection.
“Since announcing our strategic relationship with Microsoft in January 2009 to offer DPM customers the CloudRecovery solution, we have made significant enhancements to support the continuous data protection and disaster recovery of Microsoft platforms to the cloud,” said Ramana Venkata, president, Iron Mountain Digital, the company’s technology arm. “Our customers’ changing needs for storing, managing and utilizing information on-premises and in the cloud, requires innovative hybrid information management solutions like Iron Mountain CloudRecovery.”
The new release of Iron Mountain CloudRecovery will provide support for DPM 2010 in addition to continued support for DPM 2007 with Service Pack 1. To support rapid corporate data growth, the solution also provides increased scalability — protecting multi-terabyte servers.

With this new release, Iron Mountain CloudRecovery customers now have an extra layer of disaster protection with an ability to restore the DPM SQL Server database in addition to DPM data. Other new options include an on-site Iron Mountain TurboRestore appliance with Data Shuttle services for quickly backing up and restoring data, which allows customers to ship an appliance for sending and receiving large volumes of data without burdening their networks.

The Iron Mountain CloudRecovery solution can natively protect the DPM server and data through automatic and secure transmission to Iron Mountain’s underground data centers. The solution extends the capacity of the on-site DPM server by providing automated, reliable online backup and archiving of DPM-protected data, with the flexibility for customers to choose their data retention policies ranging from 30 days to 7 years.
