Investor consortium to sell Ocarina Networks to Dell

Jul 20, 2010 — (Datamonitor Financial Deals Tracker via COMTEX) – A consortium of investors has agreed to sell Ocarina Networks, Inc., a provider of online storage optimization solutions, to Dell, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of computer systems. Both the companies are based in the US.

Earlier, Ocarina Networks had secured venture funding from Highland Capital Partners, JAFCO Ventures and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.

Upon completion, Dell plans to maintain and invest in additional engineering and sales capability.

The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of July 2010.
