Merklinger to Focus on Channel Partners as Vice President of Sales at Intronis

Boston, MA – July 28, 2010 — /BackupReview.info/ — Intronis, a SAS 70 certified online backup and recovery solution for IT service providers, today announced that Rob Merklinger will take over as vice president of sales. Merklinger, an experienced software sales leader, will continue to grow the sales organization by focusing on channel partnerships.

Merklinger joins Intronis from Gomez, Inc., a web optimization platform provider for SMBs, where he was the director of sales. While at Gomez, Merklinger doubled the company’s annual revenue and managed a team of 40 representatives. He also pioneered the SaaS (software as a service) sales process at Gomez and developed a comprehensive go-to-market strategy.

Before Gomez, Merklinger spent more than six years at Oracle. He was progressively promoted and by 2006, Merklinger was managing sales for the entire Florida region. In his roles at Oracle, Merklinger concentrated on SMB market penetration.

Merklinger graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2000 with a B.A. in Business Administration.
