In our review of Asigra in November 2010, we mentioned that Asigra had 120 employees, which was a 20% increase from the head count of 100 in 2009. Adding 20% head count is a tremendous growth in today’s economic times. Yet again, Asigra is looking to add 30 more employees.

Consumer focused online data backup specialist, Carbonite, has now more than 200 employees working in their support team alone. Most of this growth at Carbonite was in the past year. The tremendous head count growth in these two companies show that cloud online backup industry is a recession free zone. Those who are in the cloud industry should be glad to hear that their skills are highly sought after, even in these bad economic times.

Asigra has more than 250,000 customers, and its customer base is growing daily. We, at, were not surprised to hear that Asigra was looking to add 30 more people, just in this month alone. All of these positions are based out of their Toronto Headquarters.

Asigra is looking for qualified candidates to fill the roles of:

* Business Development Representatives
* Sales Engineer
* Customer Support Engineers
* Quality Assurance Analysts
* Software Developers

Here is a sample of one of the positions, Business Development Role:


Asigra, an industry leading backup/restore software technology provider is experiencing unprecedented growth and a seeking qualified candidates for a number of positions including the role of Business Development Representative. Reporting to the Regional Director of Sales, you will be expected to acquire and managing Asigra partners within a defined North American region.

Asigra’s software and support program enables IT Managed Service Providers (MSP’s) to build successful data protection practices that deliver high value Cloud Backup and Recovery services. This is achieved through a structured and consultative sales process whereby, working from our head office in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, you will lead prospects through a series of discussions and presentations culminating in an evaluation and acquisition of the solution.

We are looking for candidates who are passionate in their pursuit of excellence and dedicated to winning in the market based on the needs of our customers. Asigra offers a competitive compensation and incentive program with opportunity for career advancement designed to reward your work.

The successful candidate must possess a demonstrated ability to carry on a consultative dialogue with business owners and executives to uncover a prospects business needs and objectives. You will be required to lead business discussions through phone and web meetings and also schedule / facilitate technical discussions with the assistance of a Solutions Engineer.

Other Competencies:

  • University degree or two to three years related sales experience and/or training.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and confident dealing with all levels.
  • A solid sales track record in the technology solutions industry, with knowledge of the backup/restore software market segment being a definite asset.
  • High level of energy, persistence and strong desire to do whatever it takes to win.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed a sales quota consistently.
  • Familiarity with
  • Solid understanding of business principles and practices.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision in an ever changing, dynamic environment.
