Independence, Ohio – July 1, 2011 –/BackupReview.info/– United Computer Group, Inc. today is releasing results of an IBM Power Systems Disaster Recovery Survey which was completed in Q2 2011. The survey focused on the needs of IBM iSeries end user clients and their opinions relating to Disaster Recovery RTO and RPO preferences.
Jim Kandrac, United Computer Group, Inc. president, said, “The results indicate that end user companies continue to be sensitive to both the costs and complexities of backup & DR solutions on the market today. The most significant factor was to select a solution that is easy to implement and test regularly. In addition, and surprisingly, only 11% of companies felt they were 100% prepared for a disaster and 44% of companies desired an RTO of <24 Hours.”
Thomas Davidson, Rippe & Kingston, Inc. Managing Partner and survey respondent with (7) IBM Power Systems indicated that R&K is “making progress” in their quest for a <24 hour DR. R&K replies on both tape backup and online backup. R&K’s main concerns are disk failure, tornado, hurricane and internet failure. Per Mr. Davidson, “R&K cannot afford to lose any data and taking cost into consideration is committed to achieving a <24 Hour RTO of all systems.
