HIPAA Audited Backup and Recovery Now Certified for Healthcare and Health IT Requirements

PARSIPPANY, NJ, October 17, 2011 –/– eTegrity Systems International today announced that it has successfully achieved compliance across all 54 HIPAA citations as well as the complete set of 136 audited components when audited by an independent Certified HIPAA Professional (CHP) and Certified Health Security Specialist (CHSS).

Performed by ATMP Solutions (ATMP), the evaluation of compliance was designed to measure the controls over eTegrity’s data backup and recovery processes as they are performed for End User data containing electronic protected health information. Data storage on behalf of healthcare End Users may contain sensitive electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI) such as: medical transcripts; lab records and patients’ records for doctors, clinics and/or hospitals.

“eTegrity is now better able to address its Channel Partners’ healthcare clients when it comes to backup and recovery,” said Steven Ferman, President and CEO. “One of the basic tenets of HIPAA compliance is that patient health information must always remain private, secure and available. Both our Partners and their clients can feel confident knowing that our backup and recovery services meet these HIPAA requirements as well as other key security standards.”

“Healthcare providers and their business partners are under increased internal and external scrutiny to comply with HIPAA
regulations,” said Joe Dylewski, principal at ATMP Solutions. “We conducted an in-depth assessment of eTegrity’s processes and found them to compliant with the controls stipulated by HIPAA version 1.2.1.”

HIPAA compliance adds to eTegrity’s current list of certifications. Its data center maintains SAS 70 Type II audits. The data center has also achieved the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance.
