Dublin, Ireland, November 8th, 2011 –/BackupReview.info/– Ireland’s leading disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BC) provider Network Recovery has been awarded an ISO 27001:2005 certification.
The certification, which was awarded following a tough auditing process conducted by Certification Europe, means Network Recovery has been independently certified and awarded the internationally recognised highest security standard. ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) is the world’s largest developer and publisher of international standards. Specifically, the ISO 27001 standard is a globally recognised information security management system (ISMS) standard. ISO 27001 specifies the requirements and processes to enable a business to establish, implement, review, monitor, manage and maintain effective information security.
Commenting on Network Recovery securing the ISO 27001 certification, the sales director of Network Recovery Ian Keane said: “Network Recovery’s business is to provide a number of secure data availability services including On-site & Off-Site business continuity (DRaaS), Cloud services (IaaS) and Asigra Cloud Backup (SaaS) to customers that are fully managed and fully monitored. This certification reiterates the lengths Network Recovery will go to in making sure that all compliances and security measures are met. We are very proud to have achieved this certification and become the most secure and certified Irish-owned & operated data availability company”.
“As businesses grow, so too, does data. We recognised the importance of gaining this certification to ensure that security, confidentiality and reliability for our clients is maintained and continually improved,” he added.
Data Protection and International Acts
Through our partner network we support customers all over Ireland and the UK, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, Canada and the Caribbean. We help companies address compliance such as the Irish Data Protection Act 1998 & 2003, EU Data Protection Directive, Basel II, HIPPA, SOX, FDA part II, PCI DSS and many more.
Businesses of all sizes must take greater responsibility for the information they hold. Whether it’s sales figures, TAX or banking info, employee, supplier or customer details, if you outsource the backup function you need to know where the data is held, who can access it, can it be accessed outside the LAN, is it subject to international acts and is the data centre provider certified. It is critical that more organisations follow the lead of companies like Network Recovery who expect the same security from their partners that their customers expect from them and prove to the public that they are a secure organisation to do business with. Clients and employees have a right to expect that their sensitive and private information will be protected. Network Recovery does more than keep it safe, they keep it secure.
