Compuquip Cloud Backup Solution, Powered by EVault, Delivers 100% Data Restore Success and Customer Peace of Mind
SANTA CLARA, CA, Jan. 31, 2012 –/BackupReview.info/– EVault, A Seagate Company (NASDAQ:STX), and Compuquip today announced that the Compuquip Cloud Backup solution, powered by EVault, experienced 100 percent data restore success and achieved strong market momentum in the first year of their partnership, with more than a dozen customers deploying the solution to protect almost 10 TB of data. Compuquip joined the EVault® Cloud-Connected Service Provider (CCSP) program in September 2010 and quickly built a profitable, cloud-based data protection service backed by EVault, EVault technology, and the EVault Cloud.
“The Compuquip and EVault partnership has brought our management team great confidence in the availability and accessibility of our backups,” said Robert Fernandez Jr., director of information technology, United HomeCare Services, Inc. “Not only is there a copy of our information in Compuquip’s local data center for quick access, but we have another secure backup stored in the EVault Cloud, remotely protecting the livelihood of our business.”
“Compuquip’s Cloud Backup solution has not only significantly improved the reliability of our backups, but it has helped reduce our ongoing IT costs on a monthly basis,” said Raymond Pachowicz, executive vice president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer, Plus International Bank. “Knowing our data is safe and secure in Compuquip’s Cloud, which is backed by EVault technology, gives us complete peace of mind.”
Compuquip has experienced a 100 percent success rate when running restore jobs to bring back lost data to customers who may have experienced an outage, natural disaster or simply deleted an important file. Since joining the EVault CCSP program, Compuquip has run more than 20,000 backup jobs.
“The EVault CCSP program gave us a fast and easy way to build a profitable Cloud backup and recovery business as demonstrated by our successful year,” said Jorge Azcuy, director of technical services, Compuquip. “Having a Cloud-Connected data backup and recovery offering was essential to advancing and extending our business offerings. We have learned best practices that guarantee our customers secure data and peace of mind.”
The EVault CCSP program is a breakthrough business model that elevates collaboration between cloud technology vendors and the reseller channel. EVault works with Value-Added Resellers (VARs) and service providers to quickly generate a recurring revenue stream while eliminating the high costs, high risks, and long learning curves that come with developing a hosting infrastructure. The program combines EVault’s proven expertise in managing Cloud-Connected storage solutions with the reseller’s local presence and customer intimacy to bring the Cloud closer to the customer. Customer data is replicated to the EVault Cloud, giving CCSP partners and their customers a multi-site disaster recovery plan for their data.
“Through such outstanding success rates, partners like Compuquip bring enormous value to their customers and play a key role in the delivery of Cloud services,” said Terry Cunningham, president and general manager, EVault. “Data is a key asset for every company. By employing Compuquip’s Cloud Backup solution, these customers gain all of the benefits of a multi-site, Cloud-based backup and recovery solution that mitigates costs, minimizes risks and provides localized and personalized expertise.”
