Novosoft LLC, the developer of next-gen data backup utilities, announced the hot imaging functionality of Handy Backup software. The new app version is to take system snapshots on the run.
Alliance, Ohio, Feb. 22, 2012 –/BackupReview.info/– Novosoft, an acclaimed software developer and IT consultant service provider, announced hot disk imaging functionality for Handy Backup, the popular backup software. The new version of the utility will feature smart copying of disk partitions or the entire hard drive with optimized operation time, minor requirements for PC user skills, and minimal number of steps to be made. The new hot image backup functionality is optimized for Windows, and basic disk imaging is also available for Linux.
“There are technologies which have a solid reputation of a hard nut to crack. Disk imaging has had one too. There were times when making a snapshot of a hard drive required those not so obvious steps: logging off and in between several operating systems on a single computer, initiating low-level data copying instead of file-based backup, shutting down all system processes, creating a bootable disk to download from for imaging the original system, and so on. With the new Handy Backup featuring hot disk imaging, those are nothing but nightmares of the past, gone to oblivion” said Alexander Prichalov, the head of Novosoft Development Department.
The announced new version of the Handy Backup software features hot image backup ( http://www.handybackup.net/image-backup.shtml ) functionality. From now on the making of a Windows disk snapshot takes as little as choosing the “Disk image” option among “What to back up” choices in the software interface, in a few clicks. No logging off Windows or stopping the system processes are required. The restorable copy of the disk drive is made on the run.
The hot disk imaging scheme organized that way presents optimized operation time, minimal requirements for PC user skills, and the smallest ever number of steps to be made.
Besides the entire system image backup, the options are individual disk partitions and partition table.
The new hot imaging is optimized for taking snapshots of Windows systems. Also, there is the traditional functionality for imaging Ubuntu drives, with the Handy Backup Disaster recovery bootable drive making. The software editions to feature hot imaging are Home Professional, Small Server, and Network Server.
