Distributors Ingram Micro and Promark to Offer Special Scale Computing and Veeam Promotion To Their Value-Added Resellers

INDIANAPOLIS March 13, 2012 –/BackupReview.info/– Scale Computing, a developer and manufacturer of scalable, fault-tolerant storage systems tailored to the virtualization and disaster recovery needs of the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME), today announced it has entered a Technology Alliance Partnership with Veeam Software, an innovative provider of data protection, disaster recovery and management solutions for virtual datacenter environments.

“As we continue to offer additional value-added solutions to our customers, the alliance of Scale storage solutions and Veeam is an ideal combination,” said Jeff Ready, CEO and co-founder of Scale Computing. “Together, Scale and Veeam deliver an affordable, easy to manage backup and DR solution for the VMware or Hyper-V environments of small and medium-sized businesses. This collaborative solution will work as the backup and DR solution compatible with any existing primary storage, or it can function as both primary and secondary storage. More than 70 percent of Scale’s customers are already using VMware or Hyper-V with Scale Computing as their primary storage solution.”

Veeam Backup & Replication provides fast, flexible and reliable recovery of virtualized applications and data for both VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V environments. Veeam Backup & Replication combined with Scale Computing’s ICOS-based storage clusters will enable affordable, networked storage for the production, backup repository and DR environment. The scale-out ability of the Scale storage solution will also enable customers to add storage capacity and performance, the flexibility to mix and match node densities, and less storage downtime since there is no single point of failure.

“We are happy to add Scale Computing as a Premier Technology Alliance Partner verified on Veeam Backup & Replication v6,” said Rick Hoffman, Vice President of Worldwide Alliances and Channels at Veeam Software. “This partnership will provide customers a leading backup solution as well as a top disk-based storage product.”

Customers deploying Scale’s storage and Veeam can expect benefits, including:

  • An affordable networked storage for the production, backup repository and DR infrastructure that is able to scale as the environment grows
  • Efficient VM-level replication between remote sites
  • VM-level, agentless full system backup and recovery
  • Powerful failover control that is quick and simple for the whole VM (not application specific)

Special Promotion
To help promote this new alliance, two Veeam and Scale Computing distributors are offering a special promotion to value-added resellers who sell or wish to sell the Scale + Veeam bundled solution. Starting today and through May 31, 2012, resellers of Ingram Micro and Promark and their customers will be able to purchase a disaster recovery bundle that includes Scale Computing hardware and two Veeam licenses for nearly half the price of the hardware alone. This represents a $1,900 discount (USD) over the MSRP of both solutions than if they were purchased separately.

“We are very excited that two of our major distribution partners have decided that this alliance is beneficial for their resellers and, ultimately, SMB end-users,” said Peter Fuller, vice president of business development of Scale Computing. “We look forward to working closely with these partners to give customer sites around the world the affordable data protection they need.”
