Consolidated Communications offers PC security, file backup and sharing services

Mattoon, IL, April 12, 2012 –/– Consolidated Communications is making PC security and file backup easier than ever by offering its Internet service customers additional protection against viruses and spyware and a service that will automatically back up important PC and Mac files.

The company is now offering two levels of protection with PC Security or PC Security +.

For a monthly fee of $4, PC Security guards against the latest viruses and spyware with leading edge technology to make sure your computer is always safe. PC Security + goes a step further and also offers email protection that blocks scams and phishing emails, has parental controls to safeguard young computer users, personalized settings and protection against dangerous Web sites, for a monthly fee of $6.

The Online Backup and Sharing service will provide unlimited and automatic real time backups for your computer, remote access to all of your files and easy sharing with your friends and family for $5.99 a month.

Both services – PC Security or PC Security + and Online Backup and Sharing – are available to both business and residential customers, and the monthly fee for each will also cover up to three computers.

Jill Callahan, Internet Product Manager, said subscribers can also rely on Consolidated Communications to provide full support for the protection services.

“Customers who subscribe to these protection services can also rely on Consolidated’s Technical Support team to help with installation and troubleshooting if necessary,” she said. “Plus, there’s no need to renew the software annually because this is a monthly service.”
