In the past year, Symantec has strengthened its security and backup and recovery offerings with the releases of Symantec Endpoint Protection 12, NetBackup 7.5 and Backup Exec 2012. Symantec’s flagship endpoint security software, Symantec Endpoint Protection 12, provides unmatched protection through Insight, its award-winning community and cloud-based reputation technology, to more accurately detect and block new, unknown threats. Symantec’s partners participated in the beta testing of Symantec Endpoint Protection 12 and were able to provide valuable feedback to enhance the product for their enterprise and small business customers.
With the launch of backup appliances, cloud-based backup services, virtual machine protection and deduplication technologies, Symantec is providing its partners with a new approach for modernizing backup and recovery, and more opportunities to address their customers’ data protection challenges. Earlier this year, Symantec launched new versions of its flagship backup solutions, Backup Exec 2012 and NetBackup 7.5, to enable 100 times faster backup, easier management and simplified recovery. These new solutions and innovations enable partners to reduce the cost and complexity associated with traditional backup and recovery, while better protecting their customers’ business information.
The CRN Channel Champions survey is the largest and broadest-based technology integrator market study in the industry, measuring the overall perceptions of vendor products and services by IT solution providers. Awards are presented to vendors based on the perception of their channel partners in the areas of technological satisfaction, support satisfaction and financial benefits. The end result is a list of the most partner-friendly vendors in the channel, serving as a valuable resource for technology integrators when evaluating vendors and their programs.
In addition to Symantec’s Channel Champion wins, the company was also named in CRN’s 2012 Partner Program Guide, where the Symantec Partner Program was awarded a 5-Star Partner rating. The 2012 CRN Partner Program Guide is the definitive listing of manufacturers and software publishers that service solution providers or provide products to the IT channel.
“Symantec continuously provides innovative solutions to help us grow our business and support our valued customers,” said Kurt Klein, President and CEO, CMT. “We believe in the Symantec Partner Program’s Specialization model that has enabled us to differentiate our offerings and deliver specialized services and deeper value to our customers.”
“To receive a Channel Champion award is a very honorable distinction,” said Kelley Damore, Vice President and Executive Editor at CRN. “What makes this award so special is the fact that vendor winners are voted on by solution providers, based on their dedication to supporting and maintaining a strong channel program. This award is a direct result of their ability to develop and grow solid, mutually beneficial relationships with partners. We congratulate these leading technology vendors on this recognition.”
