Asigra (www.asigra.com) kicked off day 1 of “The 2012 Asigra Cloud Backup Partner Summit” on June 12 at the Downtown Toronto Sheraton Centre Hotel. Hundreds of cloud service providers from around the world attended the event. This summit is the fifth annual event of its kind and is held every year to share the latest developments with Asigra partners and get feedback on how Asigra can help their partners perform better and become more successful.

David Farajun welcomed Asigra partners and pointed out that a lot of effort was made to get this event ready. He explained “the core values of Asigra” as the 3P’s – “People”, “Product”, and “Performance”; and explained briefly what these three core values meant to Asigra and to its Partners’ eco-system.

All Asigra staff were called up to the stage so that the attendees would be able to see the people behind the company. More than 100 employees — “who are doing the job of 1,800 people, based on performance” — went on the stage with tremendous applause from the crowd.

Farajun explained that Asigra was the first company that led the technological movement from private to public clouds; and that it is only Asigra Cloud License Server that provides flexible solutions, cost savings to support enterprises, from data centres down to smartphone devices, Apps, with data protection capabilities to and from the clouds.

Asigra’s next market-leading version will include “more than 3,500 unique products/features to protect and recover data” and Farajun gave a high level overview of these features.

It was pointed out that Asigra was approaching the “One million customer site deployment” milestone. This tremendous growth was due to the core values of Asigra.

Asigra is working on innovative bundling options, which will make it much easier for end customers to buy the Asigra product from its partners. Customization is also possible if any of the partners decide to add plugins to fulfill specific needs and complete the full circle of the Asigra DS-Cloud License Server. Plans are underway to build APIs, develop more libraries to add flexibility for platforms.

Keynote speaker Jeffery Gitomer, delivered a great presentation on “How to Make Sales Forever – Strategies and Answers from a Lifetime of Selling”.

Sessions also included a panel discussion on how to drive cloud backup sales revenue through marketing investments. The session was moderated by Heather Margolis, Founder and President, Channel Maven Consulting and the panelists included Greg Tellone, CEO, Continuity Centres; Rob Hepburn, Content Management Consultant, Polar Imaging; Kendra Webb-Scott, Marketing Manager, BUMI (Backup My Info!) and Jeff Cato, VP Marketing, CoreVault.

The afternoon sessions were divided into four tracks “OutMarket”, “OutSell” and “OutPerform”, and “Operational Best Practices”. Participants were free to choose the session(s) they wished to attend.

The day ended with a cocktail reception and then a gala dinner, where Asigra Cloud Backup Hybrid Partner Awards were handed out. Congratulations to all the winners!
