Data storage predictions, 60 or so in attendance, speeches from local government politicians and an impromptu radio broadcast…it was just another day in the office for EVault EMEA.

‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, Feb. 14, 2013 — / — On Friday, 25 January 2013, EVault celebrated the opening of its new EMEA headquarters. The event kicked-off with comments from EVault Managing Director for EMEA, Johan Pellicaan, who thanked the company’s customers and partners for the success the company has enjoyed across the region over the past 18 months.  The doubling of employees working from the new offices offered a practical perspective on the need to expand to the 800 square meter office, conveniently situated alongside the busy A2 motorway.

The undercurrent of EVault’s growth is the continuously growing use of data and the resulting need for storage. The total of worldwide storage use in 2008 amounted to half a zettabyte (500 billion gigabyte). That number, today, is, between 1.1 and 1.3 zettabytes and it is estimated that by 2020 worldwide data storage will amount to 20 zettabytes.

Pellicaan explained, “All this data needs to be managed and while prices of storage and bandwidth continue to decline labor costs are rising. The key is to address the management aspect now – before these numbers spiral out of control. For managed service providers, (MSP), automation is especially important in order to control the cost of the stack. The good news is that answers to partner and end user concerns are at hand.  EVault and our parent company, Seagate, have created a joint research & development team with the task to develop new solutions to help both the channel and user base.”

Official Opening
Bert Pauli, a local government official, representing the area of North Brabant within which EVault’s new office reside, officiated at the event. Following the opening of a large vault, (pictured), Pauli spoke about the province of North Brabant and its economic future. Last year, the province recorded an economic growth of 3.4 percent far surpassing the the national percentage of 0.9 percent.

“Brabant has many talented industries and they need companies such as EVault,” Pauli said. “To do their work, they need to have their IT in order. Back-up, storage, recovery, but also smart intelligence is needed for orchestration. That is the power of Brabant and of the city of Den Bosch. That is also the power of IT.”
