Boston, MA – May 7, 2013 — /BackupReview.info/ — Carbonite, Inc. (NASDAQ: CARB), a leading provider of cloud backup solutions for small businesses and consumers, has been named one of the Best Places to Work by the Boston Business Journal for the fourth consecutive year. The honor recognizes Carbonite’s achievements in creating an environment that attracts and retains talented people through a combination of great opportunities, dedicated peers and a unique company culture.
“Creating an innovative and engaging culture for our employees has been a top priority at Carbonite since we were founded in 2005,” said David Friend, Carbonite Chairman and CEO. “The fact that we have been named one of Boston Business Journal’s Best Places to Work four years in a row – as we have grown from a start-up to a public company – is a testament to the dedication and talent of our employees. We are honored to be recognized as a company where great people are proud to work alongside so many great Boston companies.”
More than 400 companies qualified for the eleventh annual regional awards program, which consists of a two-stage nomination process and the results of employee-satisfaction surveys taken throughout March & April. Employees answered questionnaires that addressed such factors as their pride in the company, company encouragement, support and recognition of achievement and relationships with co-workers and supervisors. The results were analyzed and scored by assigning points to each question.
“Our Best Places to Work event will again recognize the importance of cultivating a great workplace culture as a competitive advantage,” said Chris McIntosh, publisher of the Boston Business Journal. “Companies on our list can be justifiably proud of creating a high level of workplace satisfaction during an economy where traditional rewards like big raises and bonuses aren’t as easy to give. In good times and in bad, our results validate how the creation of the right corporate culture can create powerful business advantages. Employees are proud to work for companies that are about more than just business.”
The top 25 companies in three size categories – small (20-100 employees), midsize (101-500 employees) and large (more than 500 employees) – plus the top 5 in the new PR/Communications category will be awarded during a cocktail reception on June 13 at the iconic Wang Theatre and profiled in a special supplement of the Boston Business Journal on June 14.
