Solution selected as a favorite from among nearly 700 nominations due to its ease-of-use and proven reliability
Minneapolis – Sept. 5, 2013 – /BackupReview.info/ — Code42, developers of award-winning, private and public cloud-based endpoint backup solutions for consumers, businesses and the enterprise, today announced its CrashPlan PROe enterprise endpoint backup received an eSchool Media 2013-14 Readers’ Choice Award in the higher ed category. The award win comes amongst a recent series of awards and prominent media features for Code42 and CrashPlan, including USA Today, Inc., Lifehacker, KMWorld and eWeek.
Educators and administrators from K-12 schools, colleges and universities across North America nominated their favorite ed-tech products or services for the 2013-14 Readers’ Choice Awards. Nearly 700 nominations were received, with eSchool media editors selecting 40 winning products and 60 honorable mentions. A full list of the eSchool Media 2013-14 Readers Choice Awards can be found here.
“The result is a list of ed-tech products and services proven to be effective,” said Dennis Pierce, editor in chief of eSchool Media. “We hope our readers will find this information valuable as they consider which technologies they should use in their own schools.”
CrashPlan was nominated for this award by The Ohio State University (OSU). OSU uses CrashPlan to greatly reduce the number of IT support tickets it receives related to backup, while empowering OSU end users to access and restore lost files on their own.
“Since we rolled out the product about a year ago, CrashPlan PROe has … reduced [our] time spent installing and managing data backup by 98 percent, enabling us to focus on other important initiatives,” said Tim Winningham, IT projects manager for OSU.
“Higher ed institutions shouldn’t have to worry about if their data is protected,” said Brian Bell, president and chief operating officer of Code42. “CrashPlan makes it simple and easily manageable. With CrashPlan in place, IT staff can use their valuable time to provide excellent support for faculty, staff and students.”
Code42’s award-winning data backup solution CrashPlan safeguards data on more than a million endpoints and for more than 5,000 companies globally, including Adobe, Netflix, NASA and The University of Texas.
