Developers can now easily and quickly build integrations with Backupify

Cambridge, MA – October 07, 2013 — / — Backupify, the leading provider of cloud-to-cloud backup and recovery solutions for Software as a Service (SaaS) applications, today announced the availability of the Backupify Developer Platform a platform with a set of open APIs designed to extend Backupify’s innovative backup technology to SaaS application providers. Building on the beta launch of the platform earlier in the year, Backupify is working with several leading SaaS companies, such as PipelineDeals to integrate Backupify into their solutions – ensuring their customers crucial security needs are met through powerful data protection in the cloud.

While the adoption of SaaS applications continues to rise, data security and privacy concerns remain for many companies. SaaS data security and the risk of losing data in the cloud are still large hurdles to adoption.

According to Jeffrey M. Kaplan, managing director of THINKstrategies and founder of the Cloud Computing Showcase: “Companies that are investing in cloud applications are also investing in the backup and security necessary to keep their cloud data safe. Having a secure, second copy of their data is becoming a requirement for many companies using cloud applications and the Backupify Developer Platform can play a significant role in bringing cloud-to-cloud backup capabilities to more companies.”

Building on Backupify’s success developing Backupify for Google Apps and Backupify for Salesforce, Backupify identified an additional market opportunity. The Backupify Developer Platform was built for SaaS providers looking for a simple, fast way to integrate Backupify’s unique backup technology into their own applications. New features include better API description language that allows partners to start running backups quickly, within a few hours. There is no custom code required for a scalable, encrypted and secure backup.

CRM provider and Backupify partner, PipelineDeals is integrating Backupify in order to give their customers increased data protection in the cloud. Other SaaS providers planning to build integrations with Backupify for superior cloud data protection include Smartsheet, Apptivo, Freshdesk, and Mavenlink.

“The Backupify Developer Platform provides us with a simple, straightforward way to integrate proven backup capabilities, ensuring that our customers’ data is safe and secure,” said JP Werlin, Co-Founder of PipelineDeals. “We’re partnering with Backupify to give customers the exceptional backup protection they require and deserve.”

“Through the Backupify Developer Platform, we’re working with a tremendous group of partners who are looking to efficiently and effectively protect their customers’ data,” said Rob May, CEO, Backupify. “We’ve dedicated serious resources to ensure that our platform meets the needs of SaaS providers both big and small and across various industries. We’re excited to continue growing our partner network and bringing Backupify’s technology to more SaaS applications.”

The Backupify Developer Platform is currently live.
