Media giant to analyze massive data volumes in Teradata’s cloud infrastructure

DALLAS, Texas – Oct. 21, 2013 – / – Teradata (NYSE: TDC), the leading analytic data platforms, applications and services company announced today that Netflix, the world’s leading Internet television network with more than 37 million members in 41 countries, has selected Teradata Cloud specifically for massively-parallel analytics.

Netflix has selected the Teradata Cloud environment to support its enterprise data needs for complex query-based analysis. “We are excited to have Teradata bring its best-in-class data warehousing expertise to the cloud,” said Kurt Brown, Director of Data Platforms, Netflix. “We will use Teradata Cloud as our database platform for high concurrency and mixed workloads, which require sophisticated integration and processing at extremely high speeds. Teradata Cloud provides Netflix with remote access to Teradata Database software and supporting backup capacity. Netflix is able to utilize the sophisticated Teradata software in a flexible cloud delivery model.
