Toronto, ON – October 31, 2013 — / — Storage Guardian is pleased to announce the ability to back up and restore Google Apps as part of its latest cloud backup software solution, giving the Company’s Google Apps users increased security and full control of their data.

An increasing number of businesses are utilizing SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) based applications such as Google Apps to manage, share and store information. In 2012, analyst group Forrester estimated that global cloud computing market would grow from $35 billion in 2011 to around $150 billion by 2020.

Considering the dramatic increase in cloud computing, and the fact that Google Apps backs up data but is not ultimately responsible for restoring it for its customers, Storage Guardian added this functionality to eliminate the need for customers to employ multiple backup solutions to handle data that resides outside its data center.

It also effectively ensures customers who ultimately migrate off Google Apps don’t leave their crucial data behind.

“The ability for Storage Guardian to safeguard Google Apps data for our customers is a very exciting step in our evolution as a world-class, cloud-based data recovery specialist,” says Dave Minns of Storage Guardian.

“This effectively extends the level of control our customers have over data that typically resides exclusively in 3rd party data centers, without having to touch their backup architecture. We believe this is a necessary component of a comprehensive physical, virtual, mobile, and cloud-based data protection solution.”

Storage Guardian can now backup and restore business documents, emails, calendars, contacts and more from Googe Apps, and easily retrieve any information that has been edited, deleted or corrupted.

In addition to Google Apps, Storage Guardian provides support to other Tier One cloud applications, including IBM SmartCloud and
