Platform Features 15 Popular Applications Including Plex, Barracuda Copy and ElephantDrive

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Dec. 16, 2013 — / — Drobo – maker of award-winning smart storage arrays – has launched a new DroboApp platform to deliver added functionality to the popular Drobo 5N network storage array that provides simple, affordable and expandable storage for consumers, connected homes, creative professionals and businesses.

“The Drobo 5N was designed to deliver the best file sharing experience available,” said Jim Sherhart, Vice President of Product Marketing, Drobo. “We’re excited to extend and improve that experience through our relationships with Plex, Barracuda, ElephantDrive and others.”

The new DroboApp platform includes 15 initial applications with a wide range of functionality. Featured apps from Plex, Barracuda and ElephantDrive offer remote file access, unlimited cloud backup and integrated media serving while additional apps include iTunes music servers, BitTorrent clients, mail servers and web servers.
