GFI MAX Backup now includes Virtual Disaster Recovery and direct integration with ConnectWise
DURHAM, N.C., Jan. 23, 2014 — /BackupReview.info/ — GFI MAX™ today announced the latest version of GFI MAX Backup™, its fast, reliable and secure online backup service for managed services providers (MSPs). GFI MAX Backup provides MSPs with a high-value, business-critical recurring revenue opportunity, as customer demand for secure cloud backup services continues to rise.
The latest version features GFI MAX Backup’s new Virtual Disaster Recovery technology, enabling customers to recover failed Windows® systems as a VMware ESXi™ 4.1 or VMware vSphere 5.x compatible virtual machine. The ability to perform a full system restore via a Virtual Machine Disk (VMDK) automates disaster recovery and provides increased data accessibility, as customers no longer have to wait until a failed physical machine is repaired or a new one is purchased. GFI MAX Backup also includes expanded platform coverage, with added support for Microsoft® Windows Server® 2012 R2, Windows® 8.1, Apple® Mac® OS X® 10.9 Mavericks and VMware® vSphere™ 5.5.
For MSPs that rely on third-party professional services automation (PSA) tools to automate billing and service ticket management, GFI MAX Backup now includes direct integration with ConnectWise®, in addition to Autotask®’s PSA software. Combined with remote monitoring and management functionality delivered by tools such as GFI MAX RemoteManagement, this native integration enables MSPs to monitor and remediate backup failures through their PSA software, significantly reducing the time and labor typically involved in recovering systems from total loss. This capability transforms MSPs’ online backup service into a Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) offering.
“Data volumes are increasing at a rapid rate and business-critical information is now being housed across heterogeneous environments. MSPs need a solution that covers all of these platforms,” said Dr. Alistair Forbes, general manager of the GFI MAX Business Unit. “The cloud is becoming the most effective vehicle for backup and recovery services because it offers a comprehensive, simple and cost-effective alternative to conventional methods. The addition of the Virtual Disaster Recovery functionality makes the recovery process even faster and more convenient, ensuring that MSPs using it can meet the most challenging Recovery Time Objectives. GFI MAX Backup combines these benefits with innovative technology, equipping MSPs with an unrivaled, revenue-driving offering that meets customer demand for hassle-free backup and recovery at every turn.”
The technologies in GFI MAX Backup, including True Delta and Local SpeedVault, deliver a Disk-to-Disk-to-Cloud (D2D2C) or hybrid approach to data protection. The service provides highly scalable and secure backups both to the cloud and to local storage on-site while removing the overhead and risk associated with managing removable media. Additionally, GFI MAX Backup offers a range of encryption options from secure 128-bit to ultra-secure, military-grade 448-bit Blowfish encryption. The result is an unrivaled combination of security and performance: backups and restores are ultra-fast and data is protected and available at all times.
