BATON ROUGE, LA – Mar 17, 2014 — /BackupReview.info/ — Venyu will join organizations from all over the Gulf Coast at the 20th annual Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Peake BMW Leukemia Cup RegattaSM, a yearly event to raise money for blood cancer research and treatment. On Saturday, March 22, 2014, at the Southern Yacht Club in New Orleans, LA, participants will compete in various events to support LLS in helping those battling blood cancers to live better, longer lives.

LLS is committed to improving the quality of lives of their patients and their families. LLS relies on support from companies like Venyu to ensure the discovery of cancer research innovations, cutting edge drug therapies and cures. Since 1949, the survival rate for many blood cancer patients has doubled, tripled and in some cases quadrupled. In the 1960’s, a child’s chance of surviving leukemia was 3%; today, 90% can expect to survive into adulthood. The Leukemia Cup Regatta Campaign is one of many events that LLS use as outlets to help raise the necessary funds to help make these statistics a reality for their patients. For more than 60 years, LLS has invested more than $875 million in developing better cancer treatments.

At events held at yacht clubs across North America, skippers register their boats and recruit friends and colleagues to help crew and to raise funds. Crew members seek donations from friends, family, co-workers, and employers to sponsor their boat. National and local event sponsors also support the Leukemia Cup Regatta.

“The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s aid to find a cure is an extremely important cause,” said Scott Thompson, Venyu’s Chief Executive Officer. “Venyu is proud to support the Peake BMW Leukemia Cup Regatta and help raise funds to benefit research and support families affected by cancer.”
