SAN JOSE, CA – April 23, 2014 — /BackupReview.info/ — Addonics Technologies (www.addonics.com) today announced a family of 2.5” flash drive kits that allow users to easily replace 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch hard drives in notebook PC or other systems with the three most popular types of flash cards.

New models in the series include the 2.5″ M2 (NGFF) SSD Drive, which allows you to use the new M2 (NGFF) SSD cards, in the form factor of 30, 42, 60 or 80 mm length, as a direct replacement for a 2.5″ SATA hard drive; the 2.5″ mSATA Flash drive, which uses the popular mSATA SSD to replace SATA hard drives and the 2.5″ IDE mSATA Flash drive, which replaces a 2.5″ IDE hard drive with a low power and shock resistant mSATA SSD. The two SATA models are made with components that support operations in industrial temperature range. By using industrial type flash cards, these two SATA models can be deployed in the harsh industrial operating environment.

The Addonics 2.5’’ M.2 NGFF(Next Generation Form Factor) Flash drive kit is a simple and economical solution to replace a mechanical hard drive with a low power, shock resistant and high performance M2 solid state drive. The new M2 form factor SSDs are smaller, lighter, and consume less power than the prior generation. They can maximize performance in mobile devices when used as a cache drive (in tandem with a HDD). They also offer enough storage space to load an operating system and thus can be used as a bootable drive for embedded applications, ultrabooks, and next generation notebooks.

All Addonics 2.5” Flash Drives come with the necessary converter board mounted inside a light weight and durable aluminum frame with dimensions and mounting holes to mimic a 9 mm 2.5” SATA hard drive. The user only needs to mount the flash SSD of his choice onto the adapter in the 2.5” Flash drive. This makes converting an older hard drive to a SSD an easy task and allows users to take advantage of the latest flash media offerings from several suppliers.

All three models have a MSRP of $24.95. All models are operating system independent with no software drivers required. For more information, see: http://www.addonics.com/category/flashdrive.php
