More than 50,000 ShadowProtect users in Australia and New Zealand

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – June 4, 2014 — / — StorageCraft® Asia Pacific announced today that adoption of StorageCraft Cloud Services™ has reached initial critical mass, enabling the company to reduce pricing by about 10 per cent for all three levels of StorageCraft Cloud Services.

The cost of StorageCraft Cloud Services has dropped from $A1.08 per GB per month (ex GST) to just $A0.98 per GB per month (ex GST), delivering even better value to customers and prospective customers. The investment drops per GB as the volume increases. Sydney was selected as the fourth global StorageCraft cloud data centre due to the exceptionally large installed base of the company’s StorageCraft ShadowProtect® backup and disaster recovery solution for virtual and physical servers. There are more than 50,000 ShadowProtect users in Australia and New Zealand.

StorageCraft Cloud Services Premium level delivers near-instant disaster recovery for StorageCraft ShadowProtect customers. The premium level allows a customer to spin-up a backup from as recently as 15 minutes ago and restore the server to full production in minutes rather than hours or days. Advanced networking features enable that server, or group of servers, to be networked together and presented to users as a complete working system.

The archive version, StorageCraft Cloud Services Basic level, is now priced at $A0.60 per GB per month. ShadowProtect backups can be replicated to the StorageCraft Cloud as frequently as every 15 minutes. This solution is powerful since in the event of a disaster, customers can request a USB BMR (bare metal restore) drive to be sent to them, encompassing their complete data, databases and operating system. The BMR drive is a bootable drive that includes StorageCraft Hardware Independent Restore technology to facilitate fast and simple recovery to any hardware, including physical or virtual.

Greg Wyman, Vice President Asia Pacific at StorageCraft, said, “StorageCraft Cloud Services delivers a compelling value proposition as customers, partners and MSPs don’t need to provide or manage infrastructure. We really offer a complete turnkey solution that delivers previously unattainable levels of cloud disaster recovery at a fraction of the cost and complexity of traditional products.”

“We are expecting explosive growth this month as customers look to perform annual archives of their data and systems.”
