Firedrive Introduces Mozilla Extension and Download as Zip Function

This month Firedrive debuted its first Mozilla extension, which allows Mozilla users to easily upload any image file they come across into their Firedrive account. Once the Mozilla extension has been downloaded and installed, users can upload any image by right clicking on the image and selecting “Upload the Firedrive.” An updated version allowing non-image file-types will be unveiled later this quarter.

Along with the Mozilla extension, Firedrive now provides users with the ability to download files as a Zip.

“Downloading as a Zip has been requested by many of our users and we have prioritized it in our development schedule this quarter,” stated CEO Joseph Turner. “We hope our users will enjoy the savings in bandwidth as well as the convenience this new feature provides.”

With this new feature, unregistered Firedrive users can download up to 50MB as a Zip, while Pro users can download up to 2GB.

These new enhancements come on the heels of additional important updates, including a Chrome extension and Firedrive for Filelink. These updates are just the tip of the iceberg for Firedrive, as the free cloud storage service has more exciting changes in the works for 2014.
