OCEANPORT, NJ – June 18, 2014 — /BackupReview.info/ — In its ongoing pursuit to promote computer science education and to recruit and train the next generation of software coders and engineers, CommVault (NASDAQ: CVLT), an innovative data management company, today announced the recipients of its third annual CommVault High Tech High School (HTHS) Scholarship Award program. Six student winners were chosen to receive $2,500 in scholarship funding and an opportunity to further their experience with a fully paid internship at CommVault’s Oceanport offices.

The 2014 HTHS Scholarship Award recipients are:

  • Austin Liu, Morganville, NJ
  • Matthew Hsu, Manalapan, NJ
  • Monica Ting, Holmdel, NJ
  • Sreela Kodali, Morganville, NJ
  • Srishti Srivastava, Morganville, NJ
  • Zachary Liu, Holmdel, NJ

“I am over the moon with excitement to be a one of the winning recipients of the HTHS scholarship award,” said senior Austin Liu, who was part of the Mentorship program at CommVault in the spring of 2014 and will be attending Cornell’s School of Engineering this fall to continue his education. “Not only does this program help students with tuition costs but it also gives them the opportunity to gain real world experience as an intern at CommVault, a company dedicated to solving complex global problems resulting from exponential data growth.”

Since its inception in 2012, the CommVault HTHC Scholarship Award program has bestowed 14 scholarships, totaling more than $47,000, 10 internships, and three mentee positions. The program represents a yearly culmination of collaboration between CommVault and High Tech High School, a four-year Monmouth County Vocational School and pre-engineering career academy located in Lincroft, New Jersey. As part of its internship and mentoring program, students gain a hands-on experience in coding and software development.

“CommVault has empowered our students to pursue their passion for information technology through its continued support and investment in their future,” said Kevin Bals, Principal, High Tech High School. “Our continued partnership offers exciting opportunities for tomorrow’s technology, including the introduction of a curriculum focused on CommVault’s areas of expertise in data management, mobility and cloud.”

As a result of the awards program and its investment in High Tech High School’s future information technology professionals through scholarships, internships and mentorships, CommVault was recently honored by the Monmouth County Vocational School District as its 2013 Business Partner of the Year.

“This award represents an opportunity for CommVault to give back to the community by supporting this remarkable group of young engineering talent right in our very own backyard in Monmouth County, New Jersey,” said Jesper Helt, vice president, chief human resources officer, CommVault. “We take great pride in our unique relationship with High Tech High School and have been overly impressed with the faculty and the quality of students from day one. On behalf of the entire CommVault team, we congratulate this year’s honorees and look forward to continuing to play a pivotal role in their educational journey, both academically and through our internship program.”

Recipients of the third annual HTHS Scholarship Award were selected based on written essay submissions and an aptitude test conducted by CommVault. The scholarship award winners will be eligible to receive the $2,500 amount and paid internship for each of the four (4) years of college, provided they keep up good grades and do as well as expected during their summer internships.
