Cloud-based applications such as Salesforce.com, Google Apps and Office 365 continue to increase in popularity and are now in regular use throughout many enterprises. Users require the same high level of data access to these Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications as is available with traditional enterprise applications, but until recently have only found point solutions. As stated in SaaS application vendor Terms of Service[2] (Section 15: Limitation of Liability), these providers are not responsible for lost data.  Therefore, reliance on the cloud application provider to back up a user’s critical business data may present serious risks, including the potential for lost intellectual property, regulatory non-compliance and diluted competitive advantage.

At VMworld 2014, show attendees are invited to visit Asigra to experience an endpoint and cloud-based application backup and recovery demonstration.

Event details are provided below:
·         Date: August 25-28, 2014
·         Location: The Moscone Center, San Francisco, CA
·         Product Demonstrations: Cloud-to-Cloud Backup/Endpoint Data Protection/Asigra Cloud Backup™
·         Asigra booth: #2329

Asigra helps enterprises reclaim control of the business information that resides in cloud applications and endpoint devices by extending production-proven data protection technology relied on for on-premise application support. Asigra’s agentless solution enables users to manage the recovery of this information by backing up the data to either a secure public data center or a user’s own data center. Asigra allows users to choose the frequency and granularity of the backups to ensure that data is protected as long as required for compliance and business continuity. It also puts control over the recovery process back in the hands of the user by setting and achieving user-defined Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs).

In addition to cloud applications and endpoints, Asigra protects physical and virtual IT environments for true end-to-end data recovery that eliminates limited point solutions. As a results users gain secure access to all corporate data at all times in accordance with regulatory and compliance standards. With Asigra’s single, integrated approach to data protection, users can eliminate complex recovery procedures or solutions designed only for SaaS and PaaS data. Administrators can easily configure, manage and schedule all backup activities from the same intuitive interface and no longer have to manually maintain various versions of PaaS and SaaS flat files.

“VMworld provides an excellent setting to explore cutting edge solutions for evolving enterprise environments,” said Eran Farajun, EVP, Asigra. “Cloud-based applications have made their mark among businesses with no sign of slowing down. However, the benefits of SaaS solutions and computing device mobility come with a serious data availability risk if not addressed. In our demonstration we will not only validate Asigra Cloud Backup in these areas but show how to incorporate the protection of all corporate data under a unified platform for greater reliability and simplicity.”

During VMworld 2014, Asigra will participate in the Tech Field Day[3] event where innovative IT product vendors and independent thought leaders will share information and opinions in a presentation and discussion format. Asigra is scheduled to present from 4-5 pm Pacific on August 25th. The presentation will be streamed live on the Tech Field Day website at: http://techfieldday.com/event/vmwus14/
