Annual list recognizes leaders among IT channel-friendly North American tech businesses

DRAPER, Utah – Sept. 8, 2014 — /BackupReview.info/ — StorageCraft Technology Corporation’s Chief Technology Officer, Scott Barnes, has been named to the prestigious 2014 CRN Top 100 list. CRN’s annual Top 100 list salutes the key players who continue to shape the way the IT channel does business. These 100 leaders, hand-picked by the CRN editorial staff, represent the top influencers, sales leaders, innovators and disruptors in the IT channel.

In the list, Barnes was tabbed as one of the Top 25 Innovators, which is a group of executives “setting the technology course and successfully responding to the rapidly changing marketplace.”

Barnes, who is one of StorageCraft’s five cofounders, has played an integral role in the company’s growth from a start-up in 2003 to a global leader in backup and disaster recovery solutions. Under his leadership of the engineering teams, the company has produced award-winning solutions, such as the StorageCraft ShadowProtect software line and StorageCraft Cloud Services, that IT administrators and small and medium-sized businesses trust in more than 1 million computer systems around the world.

“Scott Barnes’ expertise and leadership is a key reason that this company has flourished. We would not be where we are today if it were not for the high-quality, reliable products that his group plays such a vital role in producing,” said StorageCraft President and Chief Executive Officer Jeff Shreeve.

The company’s success is exemplified by the building of a new corporate headquarters, a project Barnes is overseeing. Another accomplishment that Barnes has been instrumental in is StorageCraft’s fourth-consecutive placement on the Utah Business magazine Fast 50 list. On Aug. 28, the publication announced that StorageCraft is no. 6 on the 2014 edition of the annual list, which recognizes the state’s fastest growing companies.

The CRN Top 100 list is based on feedback gathered from technology solution providers throughout the year by CRN editors with rankings reflecting each company’s channel influence, effectiveness and visibility, along with its business and sales impact on the IT channel. Among the criteria considered are channel sales volume, channel investment and resources, channel advocacy, and performance in research projects conducted by The Channel Company’s CRN Intelligence research arm, including its esteemed Annual Report Card and Channel Champions reports.

“The CRN Top 100 list is the ‘Who’s Who’ of the IT channel,” said Robert Faletra, CEO of The Channel Company. “Each individual on this list has left an indelible stamp on the IT channel this year. Some are industry veterans with innovative leadership styles. Others are rising stars who have demonstrated a deep commitment to the channel. All deserve recognition for helping push the channel forward toward new market opportunities.”

The CRN Top 100 honorees are featured in the August issue of CRN, the top news source for solution providers and the IT channel, and is available online at www.crn.com.
