Appointment Aligns with Egnyte’s International Go-To-Market Strategy

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – September 30, 2014 — /BackupReview.info/ – Egnyte, the only provider offering secure enterprise file services on premises and in the cloud, today announced the company has appointed Ian McEwan as vice president and general manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). With more than two decades of expertise in bringing fast-growth technology firms to market in Europe, McEwan will build an industry-leading sales team in the region with a strong focus on the enterprise business.

The move is a clear indication of Egnyte’s growth strategy outside of North America and is a direct response to the European demand for Egnyte’s unmatched enterprise file services that help organizations access, sync and share business-critical information in the cloud, on premises or in a hybrid cloud environment. In addition to the hiring of McEwan, the company has opened the doors to its new headquarters at Stockley Park in Heathrow.

“We are delighted to have appointed Ian, an industry veteran with the credentials to match the fast-growing opportunity we see in EMEA, where we intend to play to our natural advantages as a global market leader for enterprise file services,” said Ian Whiting, president of Field Operations at Egnyte. “The region is the home of some of our largest and most technically-astute customers that have selected Egnyte because of our breadth of offerings and the ability to securely store their data in our European data center.”

“I am delighted to be joining Egnyte, a company that has already successfully demonstrated enterprise customer adoption and preference in Europe,” said McEwan. “I believe the company’s go-to-market strategy aligns well with my expertise in building the right team to forge important channel and technology partnerships, and to expand Egnyte’s footprint in the enterprise file services market.”

Prior to joining Egnyte, McEwan was vice president of Sales for networking traffic visibility market leader Gigamon, where his team managed the company’s European operations through a successful IPO, with a valuation that was set at more than $600 Million. He previously served as a founding member of the Cloud Industry Forum, an industry body responsible for a Code of Practice for cloud services, and is a member of the UK Institute of Directors. McEwan also brings deep experience in sales and pre-sales from a range of industry leaders, including IBM, BMC, Frontrange Solutions, Peregrine (now HP) and Vignette.
