Application-Aware Storage Provides Increased Performance, Ten Times Faster Troubleshooting and Reduces Costs by 10 to 15 Percent

München, Germany – 8 January 2015 — /BackupReview.info/ — Tintri, the leading producer of application-aware smart storage for virtualisation and cloud environments, today announced that Mitsubishi Polyester Film (Mitsubishi) is using Tintri VMstore to manage its virtual estate. In the short time since implementing Tintri, Mitsubishi has already realized a 2x performance improvement, 10x reduction in troubleshooting time, and 15% reduction in cost.

Mitsubishi is one of the largest suppliers of polyester film in the world. Clients span technically demanding industries, including healthcare and pharmaceuticals. Consequently, Mitsubishi’s IT infrastructure must ensure continuity and agility. Mitsubishi was relying on a NetApp storage solution that was proving too complex and costly. The ageing legacy system was struggling to diagnose issues within the virtual machines and the company started to need several different software solutions to manage its environment.

Thomas Zimmerman, Manager of Information Services, Mitsubishi, said: “We were ready to add more capacity, but we didn’t want to upgrade the existing NetApp solution. It was very complex from an administrative perspective. Our IT administrators had to attend specialised training at NetApp just to manage the appliances.”

With the help of partner MightyCare, the company installed two Tintri VMstore systems in less than an hour. They moved 300 virtual desktops onto Tintri and immediately experienced better performance, easier troubleshooting and reductions in both CapEx and OpEx.

Zimmerman concluded: “The largest reduction we realised was in our operational costs. The Tintri appliances are so easy to manage and support that we have reduced our operational efforts by at least 10 to 15 per cent. I have already recommended Tintri to three of our customers because I really believe Tintri has created one of the best and most innovative IT solutions in the market today.”

Doug Rich, EMEA VP, Tintri said: “We are pleased to have worked with such a dynamic and fast growing business. The Tintri platform is designed for companies that are in need of a scalable, high performance solution. Mitsubishi can now rest assured its IT systems will offer the visibility it needs at a reduced cost. We look forward to expanding our relationship with Mitsubishi in the near future.”
