Application-aware solution speeds up troubleshooting, cuts latency by 98 per cent and reduces data centre footprint and power consumption by two thirds

LONDON, UK – January 08, 2015 — /BackupReview.info/ — Tintri, the leading producer of application-aware smart storage for virtualisation and cloud environments, today announced that UK managed service provider (MSP) Amatis Networks (Amatis) is using Tintri VMstore to underpin its virtual environment. The application-aware solution has cut the MSPs data centre footprint and power consumption by 66 per cent and reduced latency in hosted customer environments by 98 per cent.

Amatis provides managed, cloud-based hosted solutions to a diverse customer base across the UK. In addition to a full suite of connectivity and WAN solutions, Amatis delivers a wide range of hosted services, including private and hybrid clouds, application hosting, collaboration solutions, and offsite data storage.

With its customers mission critical businesses operations on the line, Amatis needed a scalable private cloud solution that could handle thousands of VMs with high levels of visibility. The company’s infrastructure was struggling to cope with the bottlenecks caused by varying work loads and inconsistent IOP patterns. The existing infrastructure was reaching maximum capacity with the number of VMs being used by the customer on a daily basis.

Alex Fossa, CTO and founder of Amatis, said: “One of our hosting customers was experiencing huge operational problems in its environment on a daily basis. Every time one bottleneck was solved, another would arise. We decided the only way to fix all of their issues was to design, supply, and manage an entirely new infrastructure solution for their multi-site highly available environment.”

Amatis purchased two Tintri T620 arrays that resulted in a 98 per cent reduction in latency. Fossa said: “Tintri has taken a very simple appliance-based approach to storage. With Tintri’s VM-level visibility, we can easily troubleshoot any performance slowdowns.”

Doug Rich, EMEA VP, Tintri said: “Amatis Networks is a respected, end-to-end managed service provider with a focus on delivering outstanding customer service. It is therefore essential that a robust solution can be counted on to deliver consistent performance, even during peak workloads. Amatis prides itself on delivering a high level of service and we are proud to work with them to ensure the company continues to deliver quality solutions to the market. Now the Amatis team can rest assured their systems will stay up and running and concentrate on what they do best. This investment has allowed Amatis to provide a more cost-effective solution to its customers whilst offering a step change in performance.”
