CloudBerry Lab First to Offer Free File Manager and Backup Solution in Support of Google Nearline for Data Storage

NEWPORT BEACH, CA – March 17, 2015 — /BackupReview.info/ — CloudBerry Lab™, a vendor of backup and management solutions for public cloud storage services, today announced that its cloud backup and cloud storage management products now support Google Nearline, a low-cost, fast performance cold storage solution that competes with Amazon Glacier.

Recently introduced to the market, Nearline offers an attractive alternative to Glacier’s low cost/slower data retrieval model, and, with this announcement, CloudBerry becomes the first cloud backup solution provider to fully support the new offering. With Google Nearline, customers can back up data at a very low cost and restore it much more quickly than previously possible. Nearline’s pricing is a penny per GB for data at rest, data can be retrieved at any time with a response of about three seconds, and Nearline is fully integrated with other Google Cloud Storage services.

On the management side, the CloudBerry Explorer freeware file manager enables users to upload their data to Google Nearline easily and then manage all file data from there. With CloudBerry Explorer, customers can securely transfer data to Nearline and download it when needed, while saving money.

CloudBerry Backup provides SMBs with a reliable, powerful and affordable solution to back up and recover data using the cloud. In addition to offering real-time and/or scheduled regular backups for simple data backups, local disk image, or bare metal restore, the solution employs block level backup for maximum efficiency and provides best-in -class alerting features to track each backup and restore plan remotely. Data is protected via 256-bit AES encryption with keys controlled only by the customer, while confidentiality is enforced through transparent exchange whereby only the end-user has access to the actual data residing on Google Nearline.

For VARs and resellers, CloudBerry provides an easily managed, robust platform enabling them to start selling backup services to their customers quickly, increasing revenue and expanding their core suite of service offerings.

“CloudBerry is the first company to release a free file upload tool for Nearline, and it offers a great new option for our customers: a very attractive price that also provides fast response time, allowing them to retrieve data in seconds, not hours or days,” said Alexey Serkov, CTO at CloudBerry Lab. “Of course, CloudBerry supports more than 20 cloud storage providers, so our customers can always choose the one that best serves their needs.”
