SBM Version 5.10 Provides Site-to-Site Replication for Disaster Recovery of Backup Systems across Multiple Physical Locations
HOUSTON, TX – April 28, 2015 – /BackupReview.info/ — R1Soft®, creator of the R1Soft Server Backup Manager (SBM) product line, has released SBM version 5.10 with new Site-to-Site Replication technology, providing a simple means to replicate backup data across SBM servers regardless of their physical location. Replicated SBM server data can be used to restore an entire SBM server, including archived data, server configuration and accounts.
“This is a historic release for R1Soft as it includes the benefits of our acquisition by Continuum Managed IT Services,” said Ben Thomas, Product Director at R1Soft. “Organizations must have processes and tools in place to retrieve backed up data in the event of a loss. R1Soft’s new Site-to-Site Replication technology in SBM 5.10 ensures the straight-forward, successful recovery of your backup system data regardless of physical location in order to minimize downtime.”
SBM 5.10 Site-to-Site replication also allows restoring data to a server down line from the SBM replica. Data is transferred securely over SSL channels. Replication of data can be enable or disabled at the Disk Safe level. SBM 5.10 also includes other upgrades including improved ext4 filesystem, which now includes the 64bit feature found in modern Linux distributions. Additionally, file downloads from recovery points are now logged as an event and prevented when the Server Backup Manager is in Maintenance Mode.
