Box Introduces Integration with Office Online to Drive Business Productivity

Today’s update extends the reach of Box’s powerful integrations with Office 365 for the desktop, Office on iOS and Outlook, and demonstrates Box’s commitment to the Office 365 Cloud Storage Partner Program.

The Box integration with Office Online will enable users to easily browse, open and edit Office Online files directly from Box, as well as automatically save all changes made in Office Online back to Box in real-time. Together, these enhancements eliminate the need to upload or download files or move back-and-forth between applications, simplifying workflows and mitigating the security risks that come with locally stored content.

Over 47,000 organizations around the world, including 51 percent of the Fortune 500, leverage Box for content management and collaboration. Many of these businesses also depend on Microsoft for content creation, including Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc., AstraZeneca, Sephora and Creative Artists Agency (CAA). These and other organizations can benefit from the integration between Box and Office Online beginning today.

In addition to these web based experiences, later this year, the companies intend to further collaborate on integrations with native Office clients on iOS, Android, and Windows. Box also recently announced its inaugural membership in the Office 365 Cloud Storage Partner Program and integrations with both Office for iPad and iPhone. Prior to that, Box announced integrations with Office 365 on the desktop and the Outlook for iPhone and iPad applications.

Pricing and Availability
The integration will be available to Box business customers with an Office 365 license and to all Box personal users.
