Adds SceneDoc Mobile Investigative Software Into Program for Students Interested in Police, Security, and Investigative-Related Occupations

TORONTO, July 14, 2015 — /BackupReview.info/ — SceneDoc Inc., a leading solution provider in Policing-as-a-Platform (PaaP), today announces that Centennial College has incorporated SceneDoc mobile investigative software into the school’s Police Foundations curriculum. The SceneDoc smartphone and tablet app allows students to complete electronic paperwork, create scene drawings, add video/audio files and take text or voice-recorded notes all through their smartphone or tablet.

Centennial College is committed to ensuring students have experience using technology they will need in the field. SceneDoc, one of the most cutting-edge law enforcement solutions on the market, will be used to augment instruction on “real world” best practices for digitally documenting crime scenes.

“Students understand how to use SceneDoc after only about five minutes of instruction, allowing them to focus more on the skills being developed rather than the use of the software itself,” said Centennial College professor Brian Moorcroft. “The application allows students to easily collaborate on group projects, each contributing content from their personal device and then creating professional documents. Additionally, faculty can easily create custom forms based on the course or assignment being taught and student’s completed assignments are permanently stored in a secure, confidential and easily accessible location.”

After evidence documentation and data is collected, files are streamed to a cloud server for storage, retrieval, collaboration, and, in a real world law enforcement scenario, can be turned into a secure field-based report so command/HQ can get updates as they happen. This results in a more efficient evidence collection and reporting, increased preparedness and improved safety.

Centennial College is one of many post-secondary institutions in Canada to introduce SceneDoc into the classroom. SceneDoc is leading the way with its “mobile-first” platform and is live with agencies such as Palm Springs PD, Rockbridge County Emergency Management, Prince Georges County DPW&T, and Midland Police Service.

“Centennial students now have the opportunity to use advanced software, which provides a greater sense of realism to their education,” said SceneDoc CEO Alex Kottoor. “It’s been rewarding to see the students really take to the technology and it’s been a privilege to work with a faculty centered on innovation. This education is crucial to the students’ future success, as the next wave of public safety professionals are going to expect mobile technology to be core to the documentation process. Gone are the days of pen and paper.”
